Information about properties for sale was, up until recently, the exclusive domain of Realtors. No longer. Today, information on homes for sale is available to anyone with Internet access. In fact, there is now so much real estate information available on the net that it is almost impossible to sort through all of it with any degree of efficiency.
One of my goals in designing this web site was to organize much of the real estate information on the Internet into a format that is easy to access and understand. Information on properties for sale are available in the following categories:
SOUTH BAY HOMES FOR SALEMany companies have jumped on the band wagon to offer information about properties for sale via the Internet. However, only a few have taken the time and money to do the job right. Each of these companies is working hard to provide the best information in a "user friendly" format. While HOMESEEKERS focuses primarily on properties for sale, the recently remodeled REALTOR.COM not only offers properties for sale, but also provides a host of other real estate related information.
HOMESEEKERS A directory of properties for sale throughout the United States. REALTOR.COM A directory of properties for sale throughout the United States from the National Association of Realtors. HOMESOURCE (Regional) A private directory of properties for sale in the Los Angles area from the Los Angeles Times. HOMES.COM A directory of properties for sale from the folks at Homes and Land Magazine. HOMEGAIN A private directory of properties for sale across the United States.

Even though the U.S. government prefers not to become involved in the home selling business, sometimes it is unavoidable. The H.U.D. WEB SITE offers links to properties owned by H.U.D., the V.A., F.D.I.C., F.N.M.A., S.B.A. and our good friends at the I.R.S. Because of the cost effectiveness of Internet advertising, many companies are utilizing the Internet to promote vacation properties. It is now possible to explore properties for sale in any part of the country (or the world) from the comfort of your own home. If you have an interest in buying TIMESHARE PROPERTIES, many units are available in various locations in this M.L.S. database. For real estate in various resort locations, here are a few fun choices:
REAL ESTATE COMPANY LISTINGSReal Estate franchises across the country are now exposing their properties on the Internet. Although there is value to reviewing these web sites, it is important to note that they usually only promote properties listed with their own company, which is only a small portion of the total properties for sale.

Chuck, My husband and I are weighing the differences between buying a well kept and upgraded home in Country Hills, or buying a home that needs work. Are there any advantages either way? - Mrs. Cooper
Mrs. Cooper, The advantages of buying a well kept and upgraded home are obvious, but there are several important items to consider. Number one is choice of location. Although you can probably find a basic home in almost any location in Country Hills, your choices are somewhat limited when house hunting for an upgraded or customized home. The second consideration is cash money. Fixer upper homes will generally require a substantial amount of hard cash for capital improvments, such as carpet, paint, landscaping, plus the desired interior upgrades. A well kept and upgraded home will already offer these amenities, sometimes available to a second buyer at a fraction of the original cost to upgrade. - Chuck |
